Synopsis

Swords drawn and adrenaline pumping, D’Artagnan and his fellow Musketeers are poised for battle. As always, these legendary men of action are sworn to fight duels and right wrongs, but never before have they plunged into the fray with such balletic grace and acrobatic freedom. Because in this telling of their courageous feats, the Musketeers are not only defying the powers-that-be in 17th century France, they are also defying gravity.

Peter Hyams’ action-adventure The Musketeer weds the classic swordplay and chivalry of Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers with the gravity-defying dazzle of Hong Kong action choreography. The film’s fight sequences mix eastern and western styles, fusing 17th century swashbuckling with samurai action. The result is a Musketeer film like none ever seen before, a new and thrilling vision of Dumas’ classic, done in a style that is both timeless and contemporary.
